Veterinarian Overview
Kathryn knew from seventh grade that her calling was to be a veterinarian. Since then, everything she has accomplished has been for that purpose. After graduating with both a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science from NC State University, she obtained her DVM from Kansas State University. Dr. Harkins started practicing in New Hampshire for a couple of years upon completion of her schooling and then moved closer to family in New Jersey and remained in practice there for seven years. Dr. Harkins was recently married to a Marylander and therefore came to Hoffman Animal Hospital to continue practicing. Dr. Harkins is excited to be part of a team that is passionate about making sure family companions are kept at their best and helping them when they are not. Dr. Harkins has a particular soft spot for all felines since she has a couple of them herself. She also enjoys internal medicine and behavior cases. When away from the hospital, Dr. Harkins is happy spending time with her husband and their two geriatric kitties, Annie and Trinity. She also enjoys being outdoors, crafting, and reading.
