Veterinarian Overview
Jennifer Bitman has been a DC resident since 2008 and has worked at Kenwood Animal Hospital almost that long. She moved here from New York City where she practiced veterinary medicine on the Upper West Side of Manhattan for almost 10 years. Jennifer graduated from Yale University with a major in Art History and, having completed the pre-med program, graduated in 1984. After a stint as a decorative painter in New York, she went back to school, graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She later participated in the relief effort after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, tending to the dogs working "the stack" in search of survivors. Jennifer loves puppies! She is a strong believer that her job is to fortify the bond between human and animal, owner and pet. She is a huge fan of preventative medicine, and she enjoys showing owners how to keep their pets healthy and happy. She likes having a job where she learns something new every day. In her free time, Jennifer practices yoga, gardens, and watches more TV than she would care to admit. She and her husband, Adam Liptak, also enjoy the DC music scene. Jennifer has a 17-year-old terrier mix named Rocket who remains the cutest dog in the world. Anyone would agree.
