Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Matteson was raised in a Navy family and During her childhood lived on the East Coast, in Idaho and, overseas in Italy. She received her bachelor's degree Kenyon College in Ohio and her DVM degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced first in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, , before moving to Southern Maryland. She practiced in Calvert County, before she joined the Three Notch Veterinary Hospital Staff. February, 1996 Dr. Matteson enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has particular interest in surgery and cardiology. In addition to her many canine and feline patients, she has an interest in and treats ferrets and other small mammal pets. She regularly attends veterinary conferences to study the latest in veterinary medicine and surgery. Outside of work, Dr. Matteson enjoys motherhood, riding her horse, running and her hobbies. She is active in her church and in boy scouting. Dr. Matteson lives in St. Leonard with her husband, Johnny, and two children Ethan and Siena, and a few "misfit" pets.
