Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Linda Rawls grew up in Texas, Louisiana, and Alabama. Influenced by her favorite uncle, she decided-at the age of four-to become a veterinarian. Graduated from Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1972, she began her 40-year career in small animal medicine by working in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Gadsden, Alabama, and Birmingham, Alabama where she worked for a time at the Jimmy Morgan Zoo. In 1977 she married and moved to Maryland. After several years working in various practices in the Baltimore/Washington area, including the Metropolitan Emergency Animal Clinic, she established New Market Animal Hospital, which has grown and prospered for thirty years. Professional interests include surgery, dermatology, and dentistry.In addition to veterinary medicine, her proudest accomplishments are her two wonderful daughters.Other interests include RVing, international travel, gardening, photography, reading, sewing, and many varied crafts.Memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, the International Dove Society, Smocking Arts Guild, PFLAG, Metropolitan Community Church, and the Audubon Society.(She is NOT a member of AAVWSTC (American Association of Veterinarians Who Have Spayed Tomcats.)She is looking forward to semi (and eventual) retirement and spending relaxing quality time in her garden , travelling and enjoying life with her partner, three daughters, and three cats.
