Veterinarian Overview
Originally from Malibu, California, Dr. Justin Blake has been practicing small animal medicine in the Mid-Coast area since 2001. Dr. Blake attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, before heading to the University of Michigan for his B.S. Degree in Environmental Policy. In 2001, Dr. Blake received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College at The University of Price Edward Island in Canada. After completing emergency, surgery, and internal medicine externships at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles, Dr. Blake moved to Lincolnville to start his career in private practice. In November of 2003, Dr. Blake opened Blake Veterinary Hospital in Northport, just 2 miles north of Lincolnville Beach.. Blake Vet is located at the historic Maine Massachusetts House, directly across the street from Point Lookout Resort. Dr. Blake has created an all-inclusive practice that includes small animal medicine, surgery, dentistry, digital radiology, Idexx Vet Diagnostic Laboratory, portable ultrasound, luxury boarding, and house call services (including island visits to neighboring Islesboro). Dr. Blake resides with his family just a few miles south of the practice in Lincolnville Beach.
