Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jennifer Larson is a mixed animal veterinarian who specializes in equine practice. She received her bachelors degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 2004, and graduated veterinary school from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After obtaining her D.V.M. degree, she completed a one year internship in equine medicine and surgery at Brazos Valley Equine Hospital in Navasota, Texas, then returned to Blacksburg, Virginia for a 3-year residency and Master of Science degree in Equine Field Services. In November of 2011, Dr. Larson became board certified with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Equine Practice. In July of 2012, Dr. Larson moved to Maine and now lives in Searsport. Her professional interests include equine medicine, respiratory disease, reproduction and neo-natal medicine. Her non-veterinary interests include hiking and taking care of her menagerie of animals, which includes 3 cats, 2 cockatiels, 1 rat, 2 horses, 5 dogs, 2 fish tanks, 3 bunnies and approximately 45 chickens.
