Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Bates and his wife love the mid-Missouri area because of the great smaller communities, the weather, terrain and wildlife. They went to college locally with Dr. Bates attending University of Missouri in Columbia; and Stacey attending William Woods University in Fulton. They are both proud to be raising their 2 children in this family-friendly community. Dr. Bates' first location was across from the new Mosers Grocery Store in January of 1995. The Holts Summit community was immediately welcoming and supportive of a business that provided services to their small and large animals. The new small animal and equine hospital was built off of State Road AA in the summer of 1998 allowing Summit Veterinary Services to care for more patients; and a new cattle facility in 2015. The staff includes knowledgeable Receptionists who pride themselves on educating the client and seeing the relationship between pets and their owners stay strong and healthy. The Veterinary Assistants strive to keep the Doctors working efficiently and are very skilled with the animals, giving them the best of care and attention when they are in the hospital. The Kennel Assistants enjoy the hands on daily care of the animals and we are proud that through the years, many of them have gone on to successful careers in Veterinary Medicine.
