Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Amy Waltz was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in 2003 and went on to attend Truman State University where she received her Bachelors of Science Degree in agriculture in 2007. Dr. Waltz completed her doctorate of veterinary medicine from University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011. Shortly after graduation she joined Independence Animal Hospital. She married her husband, Shelby, in June of 2014. Shelby and Amy share their home with their three beloved pets; two English bull terriers, Kitty and June. Shelby and Amy also have a 17 year old orange tabby named Cody. Dr. Waltz loves developing the veterinarian-client-patient relationship and enjoys caring for our more critical cases. In her spare time she enjoys baking, going to the gym, and spending time with family.
