Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Libby Robertson has owned Martin City Animal Hospital since April of 2008. Prior to buying the clinic, Dr. Robertson was a relief veterinarian serving the Kansas City area for 2 ½ years. She worked for over 15 different clinics including Smithville Animal Hospital, Platte Woods Animal Hospital and Lakewood Animal Health Center. Dr. Robertson started her career in 2004 as a mixed animal veterinarian for Lees Summit Animal Hospital and as a small animal practitioner at Animal Medical Center in Waldo. Dr. Robertson graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She has her undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas and did her pre-veterinary studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City in Biology with a minor in chemistry. Prior to pursuing her lifelong dream of being a veterinarian, Dr. Robertson worked in advertising with Barkley & Evergreen Advertising (now Barkley) and as an event planner for the Kansas City Zoo. Dr. Robertson is a member of the AVMA, MVMA and the KCVMA. She was selected as an AVMA Young Leader in 2008 and as a participant in the Veterinary Leadership Experience in 2014. Dr. Robertson has two beautiful daughters, Alexandra and Isabella. The Robertson household also is home to Duke, her lab / malamute mix from Wayside Waifs, whom you are likely to see at the clinic.
