She worked for a short time after graduation and decided to move to Nashville, TN with friends she'd known from childhood who were from Biloxi, MS. In Nashville, she worked as a computer operator at Meharry Medical College for a few years and decided that it was time for her to follow her true dream of becoming a veterinarian. She completed her studies at Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 and then interned in medicine and surgery before moving to Knoxville, TN as an associate veterinarian. She holds membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the South Mississippi Veterinary Association. Being what Dr. Williams considers to be a product of South MS, she felt a strong urge to return home to be near friends and family. She has held a veterinary associate position in Ocean Springs and was employed at Keesler AFB as a Veterinary Medical Officer. She was also employed in Gulfport, MS as a veterinarian for many years.
