Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mejia (formerly Bean) is a native of Rowan County. Raised on a small hobby farm, her interest in animals and animal care was started at a young age. After attending college and spending 3 years active duty in the U.S. Army, she decided to pursue her dream and attend Veterinary School. Her dream was realized when she graduated from N.C. State University in 2006 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mejia has a keen interest in cats and is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association. She and her husband, Wil, own a small hobby farm with all types of farm animals, including chickens, goats, llamas, a steer, and the resident diva, her Haflinger mare, Sunny. Along with the farm animals, she and her husband enjoy caring for their many dogs and cats. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and horseback riding."
