Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jimmie Sains mother has a picture of him at two years old, lips puckered up in an attempt to whistle. The caption explains that young Dr. Sain was trying to whistle to a dog across the street because he loved all animals! As he grew older, Dr. Sain realized he didnt just have a passion for the earths creatures; he had a special rapport with them. A career in veterinary medicine simply made sense! Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Dr. Sain began college in Mobile, Alabama before enlisting in the United States Air Force. After his time in the service, he returned to Auburn University and re-enrolled in the pre-veterinary curriculum to complete his requirements for veterinary school. Upon graduating with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Sain accepted employment at three very different but very advanced veterinary clinics in Georgia, West Virginia, and North Carolina. He and his wife fell in love with the Charlotte area and decided to raise their family there. During this time, Dr. Sain purchased what was then called University Animal Clinic, eventually changing the name after developing a special interest in veterinary dentistry that persists to this day. University Animal Medical and Dental Clinic was born! Aside from his 25-year-plus passion for animal dentistry, Dr. Sain enjoys surgery and being able to work directly with his hands. Most of all, he loves the special interactions he gets to experience with clients and their pets; Dr. Sain considers it a true honor to be a part of their families. Dr. Sain enjoys playing golf and fishing in the streams of North Carolina when he isnt spending time with his wife or caring for the areas pets here at the clinic. Dr. Sain and his wife have been married for nearly 45 years, and have four grown children and many grandchildren. Although they dont have any pets of their own right now, theyre pleased to share their lives with several grandpets!
