It didnt take long to realize that being an animal owner came with both rewards and responsibility. I have always loved animals but it was in 1996, at the age of 30, before I decided to dedicate the rest of my working career to caring for these creatures that have always been in and around my life. My focus has been directed toward learning and practicing to care for the horse in particular. While I have other animals of my own. there is a special place in my heart for the horse. So strong, yet so needy. I came to North Carolina in 2005 after graduating from UTCVM. I began my career as an associate at Greenock Farm Veterinary Hospital and began to learn more and more about the need for a close vet-client-horse relationship to maintain the best possible health of the animal. Shortly after beginning my career I became frustrated at the number of horses and ponies I encountered with laminitis. I opened a solo mobile practice in October 2008 and have tried to specialize in the maintenance of a healthy horse with the focus on preventing disease of any kind, espeically laminitis. The practice is growing quickly and many people are seeing the rewards of efforts made to avoid unnecessary disease by decreasing their animals' risk.
