Veterinarian Overview
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Dr. Smith grew up in Gainsville, FL and Plainwell, MI before moving to Raleigh in high school. Dr. Smith then attended UNC-CH where he majored in Russian History, Chemistry and Biology. While in undergrad, Dr. Smith started working at the Vet School at NCSU in the swine department (Dr. Smith's mother was a technician at NCSU CVM in the Virology Dept. for over 20 years). Dr. Moseley and Dr. Smith were classmates at NCSU VTH. Following graduation, Dr. Smith practiced general medicine in Concord, NC for a year and a half before becoming an Associate Vet in the Emergency and Critical Department at Carolina Veterinary Specialists. Dr. Smith has served as the Director of Animal Emergency and Trauma Services at CVS for the past 12 years, a position he currently holds. Dr. Smith works at Hope Animal Hospital every week he is not on duty at CVS.
