Veterinarian Overview
Dr Cara Sammons-Shepard grew up in Maine and graduated from Massachusetts College of Art in 2004 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts. While teaching Art in southern Maine, she and her husband started Flying Goat Farm, and caring for the goats, especially breeding and kidding, gave Dr Shepard the inspiration to change career paths. Dr Shepard graduated from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and has special interests in pain management and integrative medicine. She is currently working towards completing her Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist credential at the Chi Institute for Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. In her free time, Dr Shepard enjoys helping her husband run Flying Goat Farm and jogging with her vizsla, Calder.
