She was working as a relief veterinarian while my primary was out of the office. Brought my 14 year old lab mix in on a Friday before a long weekend. He has a history of hemorrhagic diarrhea, and we were trying to void an ER visit. She refused to give him the antibiotics we knew he needed until blood and urine test results were back. (That ended up being the following Wednesday) 3 hours after our visit for which we paid $1100 and were refused any real treatment,we literally thought our boy was actively dying. We had to carry him to the car to take him to the emergency vet. The doctor there took such good care of him and provided immediate treatment. We had to pay for duplicate blood work and urinalysis due to lack of treatment by this doctor. After a 2 day hospitalization, he was on the road to recovery and is now well. In the future if our primary is out of the office we will go straight to the ER. The only follow up this doctor did was to tell me why she was right to not give treatment. The evidence says otherwise. The only reason I’ve been able to move on is that he did eventually recover, otherwise it might be a different story.
