Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Niki Cruz received her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts in 2019. After nearly 7 years away from home, she returned to NJ to join the team at Madison Animal Hospital in February of 2019. Originally from Westfield, NJ, she now resides in Fanwood with her significant other, James, and their clan of oddly named pets. They have three dogs, Paco, Kitti & Mouse; a cat named Puppy; three chinchillas, Svetlana, Gertrude & Vladimir; and the sweetest hamster in the world, Gingy. In her free time you might find Dr. Niki outdoors with her dogs, or participating in any activity that allows her to spend time with her family and friends. At the hospital, her special interests include behavior, surgery, shelter animals and exotic patients such as small mammals, reptiles and birds. While Dr. Niki adores her cat and dog patients, she is particularly excited to offer services for the exotic patients that come in. She is also Fear Free certified and loves making the veterinary experience fun and stress free for both the people and the animals that she meets.
