Education: The University of Pennsylvania, Texas A & M, The Ohio State University, University of Hartford Pets: Butters & Margie Dr. Philippe Coudrai received a Masters degree in Biology in 1984 from University of Hartford, and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989. For the 15 years prior to opening Winslow Animal Hospital, he gained valuable medical and surgical experience working in 24-hour full-service and emergency hospitals. He has focused much of his attention since 1991 in orthopedic surgery, and has attended post-graduate education in orthopedics offered at The Ohio State University, The University of Pennsylvania, and Texas A & M. Since 1996, Dr. Coudrai has operated a veterinary orthopedic referral service (non-specialty), performing approximately 200 orthopedic surgical procedures annually for over 30 area hospitals. In 2003, Dr. Coudrai became certified to take PennHip X-rays to detect hip dysplasia in puppies as young as four months of age. In addition, he is a skilled surgeon who has performed many complicated surgeries, such as: eyelid resconstruction, oral & thyroidectomies, lumpectomy, skin grafting, liver lobectomy, gastrotomy, enterotomy, end to end anastamosis, sub-total colectomy, nephrectomy, cystotomy, splenectomy, etc. He also has an interest in Veterinary Dentistry and attended courses at the Animal Dental Training Center in Maryland to improve his skills in extensive surgical dental extractions and root canal therapy. Most recently, Dr. Coudrai received certification as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist from the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida. Dr. Coudrai believes deeply that orthopedic surgical patients benefit greatly from rehabilitation therapy after surgery. With Dr. Amy Hinze, CVA, and Linda Franzini, CVT, CCRP, Dr. Coudrai opened the Winslow Animal Hospital Center for Rehabilitation and Pain Management, offering a variety of rehabilitative modalities modeled after our human Physical Therapy counterparts, as well as acupuncture to manage pets pain and range of motion. Dr. Coudrais memberships include the Veterinary Orthopedic Society, Eastern Veterinary Orthopedic Society, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, and the Southern New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Coudrai has passed licensing examinations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. His two cats, Butters and Margie, can be found walking the halls of Winslow Animal Hospital. Dr. Coudrai was a resident of Winslow Township and now resides in nearby Washington Township. He and his wife, Lee, have been married since 1983. They have 2 sons, John-Michael and Eric. Hobbies/Interests: Dr. Coudrais passion (2nd to family) is skiing with his sons, hiking, and cycling.
