Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Poinsett grew up in Monmouth County, NJ. He attended Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, PA for undergraduate studies and earned his DVM degree from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, Jersey Shore Veterinary Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. He is past president of the Southern Ocean Rotary Club and a recipient of the distinguished Paul Harris Fellow award.
In 1981 Dr. Poinsett and his wife Pat established the Southern Ocean Animal Hospital in Tuckerton, NJ. Dr. Poinsett and his wife have a son and daughter and four grandchildren. He enjoys all aspect of small animal medicine with a special interest in dermatology, internal medicine and surgery.
