Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Hepworth grew up in Northern Indiana. She spent most of her youth heavily invovled with 4H and riding and showing Quarter Horses in a variety of disciplines from hunter under saddle to barrel racing. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University in 2005 and then her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, also from Purdue, in 2010. After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Hepworth completed a one year internship at AVS Equine Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Following Completion of her internship, she completed a three year residency in equine internal medicine at Iowa State University, after which she became board certified in Large Animal Internal Medicine. Dr. Hepworth then stayed on as a faculty member on the equine medicine service at the Lloyd Veterinary Teaching Hospital at Iowa State University for a year before moving to New Jersey with her husband, a small animal veterinarian. She worked in a mixed practice for one year before joining the Colts Neck Equine team in 2016. Dr. Hepworth's professional interests include ultrasonongraphy of the abdomen and thorax, gastrointestinal disease, respiratory disease, edocrine disease, neurologic disease and foal diseases. Outside of work she enjoys cooking, travelling, riding her horse and running.
