Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Nappa grew up? in Central New York near Syracuse. He graduated from LeMoyne College near home with a bachelors degree in Biology. During undergrad he joined the Army Reserves and was deployed for nine months to South East Afghanistan in support of Operation: Enduring Freedom. Upon arriving home he married his college sweatheart and they both left the United States to study at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine located on the island of Saint Kitts in the Caribbean. He completed his clinical rotations at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York before graduating with high honors in 2007. Dr. Nappa continued his education at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in Manhattan by completing a one year medical and surgical rotating internship. The following nine years he spent at Emergency referral-specialty practices, first at Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center where he was voted one of the Top Veterinarians in Westchester county in 2011; Most recently he was a staff Emergency doctor at Newtown Veterinary Specialists in Newtown, CT. Dr. Nappa joins our team with nine years of high quality medical and surgical skills. He interests include pain management in critically ill and geriatric patients, Internal medicine, Dentistry and Trauma. He lives in Putnam county with his wife a fellow Veterinarian, his daughter, two dogs and a cat. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, baking, gardening and playing video games.
