Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Brad Seaman, a general practitioner and founder of Greenpoint Veterinary Hospital, being a veterinarian is in his DNA. His father was a veterinarian and he grew up around animals. "I like solving complex and important problems," Dr. Seaman said about what motivates him in his work. "Trying to improve the quality of life for both the pets and their owners makes my career very rewarding." Dr. Seaman grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. He graduated from Ross University's School of Veterinary Medicine with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. His professional interests are in dentistry, ultrasonography, and surgery. Dr. Seaman is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the New York State Veterinary Society. One of his most memorable moments while earning his veterinary degree was an externship in Chiang Mai, Thailand during which he assisted the local veterinarians in the medical and surgical care of elephants. "The life of a veterinarian," he said, "is never boring." Dr. Seaman has a number of pets, including a cat named Captain Pickles, who was adopted from St. Kitts in the West Indies, and a dog named Kaya, rescued while Dr. Seaman was employed in his first veterinary position in Southampton, New York.
