Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Steven Smith is the hospital director of Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Smith joined the Canandaigua medical team in 2008. He previously practiced medicine as an associate veterinarian at the Animal Hospital of Pittsford from 2005 to 2008. A native of Pittsburgh, Dr. Smith attended Hobart College and received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 1998. He continued his education at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and he was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. Surgery, dentistry, wellness and preventive medicine are among his many professional interests. Dr. Smith and his wife, Alexis, who is also a veterinarian, have four children, Paige, Maddox, Heidi and Nola. Their four-legged family members include two dogs, Bodie and Gusten and a cat named George W. In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, training his dogs and hunting.
