Veterinarian Overview
Apart from attending Cornell Veterinary School, Ive never strayed far from my roots. I grew up in East Meadow, but never would have imagined Id be working there too. I have enjoyed my association with the VCA East Meadow Animal Hospital since 1977. My interest in veterinary medicine could very well have started when I searched for wildlife as a kid in the vacant lot where the animal hospital now stands. I learned animal care from the bottom up, starting in the kennel. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree at St. Johns University, I was accepted to Cornell Veterinary School and graduated in 1977. Following graduation, I worked at VCA East Meadow Animal Hospital for five years, left to pursue co-ownership of the Jamaica Estates Animal Hospital, and then returned once again to VCA East Meadow in 1987 to join in a partnership there and eventually become the sole owner. I have seen many changes in my veterinary career, yet my interest in giving the utmost care to my patients remains the same. I continue to stay current with the ever-improving scope of animal care by attending continuing education conferences at Cornell and the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association. Additional memberships include the American Animal Hospital Association, the New York State VMA, and the American VMA.
