Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Kenneth Gantt is co-owner of the Veterinary Center of East Northport. A general practitioner, he opened the hospital with Dr. Margaret Ullmann in October 2004. A native of Long Island, Dr. Gantt has loved caring for animals ever since he was a child. He remembers volunteering to take class pets home on weekends, holidays and summer vacations (even though his mom didn't appreciate the boa constrictor in his bedroom). He enjoys the challenges that come with veterinary medicine, but most of all, he enjoys the relationship that he forms with clients and their pets. Dr. Gantt completed his undergraduate education at Cornell University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science in 1989. He continued his veterinary education at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Following veterinary school, Dr. Gantt completed an internship in animal medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee from 1993 to 1994. Ophthalmology, cardiology and surgery are among Dr. Gantt's many professional interests. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. Dr. Gantt and his wife, Gena, share their home with two dogs, Oakley and Sophie, and two cats, Marbles and Jacks. When he's not busy with his duties at the hospital, he enjoys traveling, walking and running. He also loves spending time in Manhattan and going to Yankees games.
