Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Fischman knew she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 years old. She is a graduate of Cornell University and her areas of special interests are preventative medicine, geriatrics, animal welfare, and client education. She enjoys interacting with dedicated clients who appreciate their animals as much as she does. Dr. Fischman has always had a menagerie of pets, and currently shares her home with Gideon, a Doberman Pinscher, Snookie, a Chihuahua, Penni, a senior Dachshund, and 4 cats named Wallaby, Flan, Grizzly, and Devon. When not at the hospital, Dr. Fischman enjoys hiking with dogs, horseback riding, gardening, cooking, scuba diving, skiing, and martial arts. She also believes in giving back to the community and volunteers her time with several rescue organizations on Long Island.
