Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Tom Bowersox grew up in Minnesota where he received his Bachelors degree in Animal Science in 1982 from the University of Minnesota. He then continued on in the University of Minnesotas Veterinary School, where he earned another Bachelors degree in Veterinary Science as well as earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Dr. Bowersoxs biggest achievement was passing his surgical boards to become a Board Certified Veterinary Surgeon in 1997. Following completion of his boards, he was hired back at the University of Minnesota as a faculty member in a clinical tract position. His job was to operate cases and to teach students, interns, and residents. He has now started his own practice within the last year in which he travels to area clinics performing surgeries that clinics would not otherwise be able to offer and allowing pet owners to have specialty work done on their animals without the need to travel. In his spare time, Dr. Bowersox enjoys spending time with his two children. He has many pets of his own including his constant companion Dash (an Aussie). He also has cats, horses, and rabbits, while his kids have goats, chickens, and many other species as well.
