Veterinarian Overview
A native of Colombia, South America, Dr. Galvis joined the team at Miller Place Animal Hospital in 1992 after earning her DVM from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. She is affiliated with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS), and Long Island Veterinary Medical Association(LIVMA). She knew since the age of 4 that she wanted to be an "animal doctor" and care for animals. With over 25 years experience in the field of veterinary medicine, she welcomes the diversity that each day on the job brings. Theres never a dull moment, and theres no such thing as a "routine" day! She loves helping animals stay healthy with their adopted families. Although she works primarily with dogs and cats, she has a soft spot for wildlife and rodents. Dr. Galvis is married to Gary Tarulli, a self-published author. They are proud pet parents of Maggie, an overactive Miniature Poodle who loves to play Frisbee! When Dr. Galvis has spare time, she loves to garden, read, hike, snorkel (with the fishies), and travel.
