Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Margaux Tillinghast was raised in Greenwich, CT where her love of animals began early in life. Growing up, she volunteered at local aquariums, small animal clinics, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and farms. She received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Iowa State University. While at school, she was lucky to participate in study abroad programs, taking courses including wildlife immobilization in South Africa, elephant and zoo medicine in Thailand, and public health and shelter medicine in Jordan. Upon graduation, she worked at an equine sports medicine practice treating race and show horses in the New York and New Jersey area. In 2016, she joined a small animal veterinary hospital. Dr. TillinghastÂ’s interests in veterinary medicine include cardiology, orthopedics, surgery, and exotics. Given her passion for horses, she started an equine ambulatory practice based in Orange County to treat horses and other farm animals. Outside of work, she enjoys trail riding and training her horse, Twister, traveling, and spending time with her other pets. She has a Green Cheek conure, a cockatiel, a Moluccan cockatoo, and a rescue cat named Onyx.
