Veterinarian Overview
Growing up in Florida, Dr. Brian P. Grossbard, DACVS, knew he wanted to combine his deep love for animals with his passion for medical science. In pursuit of his life-long dream to become a veterinary surgeon, Dr. Grossbard earned his DVM from the University of Florida in 2005. As a graduate, Dr. Grossbard completed a number of internships in Boston and New York such as emergency medicine, internal medicine, general and specialty surgery, medical neurology and neurosurgery, and a comprehensive 3-year surgical residency. Dr. Grossbard has practiced veterinary surgery in New York since 2006. Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, his interests include spinal trauma, critical care of surgical patients, minimally invasive surgery and surgical oncology. He is also a certified provider of stem cell therapy. Currently a referral based surgeon at Pure Paws, Dr. Grossbard is also a surgical specialist at Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers. He also regularly volunteers his expertise at local rescue organizations. When Dr. Grossbard is not providing leading veterinary care, you may find him chauffeuring his rescue pup, Nemo, around the Greater New York City area. He also enjoys bicycling, travelling with his dog, and savoring all the art, food and culture Brooklyn has to offer.
