Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Gearhart received her DVM degree from the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell in 1979 and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in 1975. She has practiced in the Hudson Valley since 1982. In 1985, she qualified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and since her specialty certification, she has limited her clinical work to companion animals, including ferrets, pocket pets, and rabbits as well as dogs and cats.Her special interests include geriatrics, feline medicine, cancer therapy, infectious diseases, dentistry, and nutrition. In 2003, she became certified in veterinary acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and is a member of the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture and the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. In addition, she is a long-standing member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, American Animal Hospital Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and New York State Veterinary Medical Society
