Veterinarian Overview
When Dr. Palmeri was in first grade, she made a book about what she wanted to be when she grew up. Even at that young age she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Growing up, she was intently focused on that goal, which led her to work as a veterinary assistant throughout her high school and college years. Dr. Palmeri's desire to be a veterinarian was confirmed as a teenager when her own cat became very sick. The vets at the clinic where she worked were able to nurse her cat back to health after a week of hospitalization and care, and from that moment forward Dr. Palmeri knew that she wanted to give back by doing the same for other sick pets. After receiving an undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, she went on to achieve her goal in 2006 when she earned her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, West Indies.
