Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Lydia Aris VMD has 8 years of experience as a veterinary technician, and then 17 years as a veterinarian. Dr. Aris graduated from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a Bachelor of Science, then received her Veterinary Medical Degree from University of Pennsylvania. Prior to opening Southern Hills Veterinary Hospital, she had been working as a relief veterinarian. This has given her a great opportunity to see and work in many different veterinary practices. Dr. Aris was born in the Czech Republic and came to the US when she was five. She grew up in Cazenovia. She has lived in the Tully area for 14 years with her husband and two children. She enjoys outdoor activities. The whole family snowboards during the winter and hikes, swims, and camps in the summer. Professionally, Dr. Aris has been a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, New York State Veterinary Society, and CNY Veterinary Medical Association since graduation. She is also a Nationally Accredited Veterinarian. For 10 years, she served as the CNYVMA treasurer and continues to be on the executive board. She is also a member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners, and Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians.
