Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Michelle Rocque is a native Vermonter whose love of animals convinced her she wanted to be a veterinarian at only three years old. She received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Rhode Island in animal science and completed her DVM degree at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation in 2003, she and her husband moved to Cape May, New Jersey where she practiced small animal and avian medicine for three years.Michelle.jpg In 2006, she joined an integrative holistic practice in Westchester County where she utilized numerous holistic therapies to benefit her patients. She has worked as both an associate and relief veterinarian in Dutchess, Putnam, Orange and Westchester counties over the past 8 years, allowing her to become a part of a wide area of the Hudson Valley Community. Her passion in medicine lies especially in nutrition and alternative therapies such as neutraceuticals, homeopathy, and herbal medicine for dogs, cats, birds, and pocket pets. She believes that integrating conventional and holistic medicine offers her clients more options for the treatment of their beloved furry family members. Dr. RocqueÂ’s favorite part of her job is communicating with her clients. She feels that the best care can only be achieved if there is open communication, education, and compassion between herself, her patients and her clients. She has been with her loving husband since they met in college and they are the proud parents of two beautiful girls, two rescue dogs and one rescue cat. She is an avid gardener and is especially proud of her many varieties of herbs.
