Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jessica Baron grew up in Ridgefield Connecticut. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut and then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed an intensive one year rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York followed by a one year surgical internship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. While at UPenn Dr. Baron developed an interest in minimally invasive surgery and conducted a research project which evaluated a minimally invasive technique for obtaining intestinal biopsies in cats. Dr. Baron completed her three-year residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine where she had extensive training in soft tissue, orthopedic and neurologic surgery. Her areas of special interest include minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopy), brachycephalic airway surgery, cranial cruciate ligament disease treatment, and fracture repair. Dr. Baron is dedicated to providing high-quality patient care and working closely with the clients and their primary veterinarians to develop an optimal diagnostic and treatment plan. Her outside interests include traveling, skiing, photography and spending time with her husband, family, friends and her two dogs Ari (Yorkie) and Franklin (English Bulldog).
