Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mark graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. While in Veterinary School, he was the president of the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr Gigliotti also earned a B.S. in agriculture with a minor in nutrition.He enjoyed sports while at Elyria Catholic High School lettering in Football and track. As a boy, he grew up on his parent's farm in Vermillion raising horses, cattle, sheep and chickens. On the weekends and summers he would work at his Father and Uncle's veterinary hospital. In 2003, after being in practice for 23 years, Dr. Mark was able to purchase Amherst Animal Hospital From his Father and Uncle.Dr. Mark met his wife, Mary, during the summer of 1980. They got married in 1982 and now have 5 wonderful children, Matthew, Christine, Lauren, Ju Yen, and Elise. Their family includes "Carly" a loving Pit Bull, "Heidi" a poodle mix, and "Hooie" an independent long haired tabby cat.He enjoys clinical medicine and surgery and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and dentistry.
