Veterinarian Overview
Libby Carstensen, DVM I am a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I also attended OSU for my undergraduate education in Animal Sciences. I have been in Columbus for a little over seven years and hope to make it my home for good. I grew up north of here on the shores of Lake Erie, in a speck of a town called Bono, OH. I spent most of my childhood riding horses and following my parents around at work, dreaming of the day that I could follow in their footsteps. They are both veterinarians. This is truly my ideal job. As a veterinarian, I am interested in internal medicine, soft tissue surgery and orthopedic surgery. I was recognized for Excellence in Neurology and received the highest Latin Honors for academic excellence while in school. I have the knowledge, experience and passion necessary to practice the highest quality of medicine the quality of medicine your pet deserves. My own pets keep me on my toes when I am at home. My cats, Ivy and Rumple, have an uncanny fondness for idle water glasses, knocking over potted plants and stealing hair bands. They are both rescues Ivy from a fishing net in a Lake Erie marina and Rumple from an abandoned cardboard box. I feel so lucky that they have brought their mischief into my life! In my free time, I am an avid outdoors enthusiast. I enjoy running, hiking, swimming, biking, sand volleyball and parkour. My boyfriend is in the process of opening a parkour and athletics gym Horizons Movement so we spend a good deal of time planning and researching how best to run a gym. I would greatly appreciate suggestions for hiking, biking or running trails you enjoy in and around central Ohio. I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
