Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Mendillo became a veterinarian because of her love for animals and people, and in 2015, she became one of our newest veterinarians. She earned her DVM from The Ohio State University and has special interests in surgery, cardiology, and dentistry. Prior to graduation, she pursued continuing education courses in TPLO, total hip workshops, and dentistry. Her veterinary affiliations include the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and American Veterinary Medical Association. After working with neonates, in pediatrics, and as a veterinary technician, she realized that she enjoyed being challenged in her career. Like infants, animals are unable to communicate their ailments, which requires veterinarians to put together the puzzle pieces to determine whats wrong. Its that challenge and the relationship built with clients who have true compassion for their animals that drives her to be a better doctor every day. She loves giving a voice to animals in need, determining their ailments, and providing the best care possible to them and their owners. Dr. Mendillo has been blessed with many interesting experiences over the years through summer externship and rotations. She has also been able to work with veterinarians of different backgrounds in various countries, treating everything from dogs and cats to lions, rhinos, leopards, and elephants. She has also been a part of many surgical procedures, such as PDA ligation, C-sections, pyometras, total hip replacements, TPLOs, and angular limb deformities. Her favorite part of working at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic & Lodge in Rittman, OH is the high expectations and solid core values that are in place. She also loves working with people who have the same utmost respect for clients and animals while providing top-of-the-line care in a fostering environment, where everyone is treated like family. Dr. Mendillo is married and shares her home with rescued mutts, Bosko and Deuce (lab hound mixes from Tennessee), Vespyr (a lab/pit mix from a shelter in Northeast Ohio), and a DSH cat named Maddock (who only responds to Kitty or Kiki). She also has a paint horse named EZ Winning Streak (Streak or Squeakers for short). When shes not at the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, riding Streak, kayaking, playing volleyball, traveling, shopping, and crafts.
