Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Leslie Karkheck graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. Upon graduation, she completed an internship at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. She practiced equine and small animal medicine in Lexington for a few years and then moved to New York where she practiced primarily small animal medicine for 3 years before moving back to her hometown of Ida, MI. She is excited to be home and to join Shoreland Animal Hospital. She has special interests in anesthesia, surgery and diagnostic imaging. Outside of work, Dr. Karkheck spends most of her time with her husband and 1-year-old daughter. She also enjoys distance running and horseback riding. Her family pets include 2 dogs and 1 cat.
