Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Conklin is a native Tulsan who attended McKinley Elementary School, graduated from Nathan Hale High School and grew up not far from where the clinic is today. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Oklahoma State University in 1973 and received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from OSU in 1975. He opened Sheridan Road Veterinary Clinic in 1978 after doing an internship at the University of Georgia and working for two years in North Carolina. He has 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He and his wife Debbie were married in 1972 and have grown children Sarah and Michael. They also have a granddaughter Avery born in 2008 and a grandson Larson born in 2011. Growing up he always had hunting dogs. Since then he has had a Boxer, Boston Terrier, Shorthiar Pointer, Irish Setter, Golden Retriever, Bassett mix and Labrador Retriever. He has also had Hereford cows and even a couple of squirrels. When he decided to start his own practice, he wanted to come back to his old neighborhood. The clinic has been in the same location since 1978. Whenever we do a remodel of the clinic, one of the first questions is always are you moving? and we always answer no, we like it where we are. Although many things have changed over the years, we are here to stay.
