Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Josh Elliott is excited for a new chapter in his life and career. He is a Board Certified Veterinary Internal Medicine Specialist. He has been practicing in the greater Portland Metro Area since 2008 when he finished his Residency in Internal Medicine at the California Animal Hospital. In addition to maintaining a busy internal medicine service at a large specialty center, over the past 4 years he has trained in the martial art of Aikido. Last year he traveled to Japan to test for his black belt. It was a great joy to receive his certificate in Japan and from the dojo of his trainers teacher. Aikido is an enjoyable source of exercise and serenity for Josh. His entire family trains together, time permitting. Josh and his family moved to the Pacific Northwest so that he could join a veterinary specialty practice where he could practice a high quality of medicine and be able to make a good life and a future for his family. Over the past seven years his family has grown and blossomed in this community. They love all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Josh especially loves snowboarding. Recently, Josh has chosen to move on and expand his horizons, creating Sunstone Veterinary Specialists. This new venture will allow him to continue to practice the level of high quality of medicine with the personalized service he values. Josh performed his rotating small animal internship and internal medicine residency in Southern California. He attended UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to Veterinary School he spent 8 years in Santa Cruz, California where he completed his undergraduate degree in Marine Biology as well as a Masters Degree in Biology. He and his wife met as freshmen and were married a short 4 years later.
