Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Pearce Fujiura graduated from WSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. He has moved here from Fishersville, Virginia where he worked at a busy small animal/exotic practice. He has experience working with all species "from cows to cornsnakes" and enjoys the variety of veterinary medicine. While receiving his education, Pearce studied avian medicine, husbandry and advanced endoscopic techniques at the Abu Dhabi Falcon hospital during a 4 week certification program. He also completed an externship at the Wildlife center of Virginia and has been a handler/trainer at Sardis Raptor Center in Ferndale, WA for 8 years. In addition to small animals, wildlife and exotic medicine, he has two bachelors degrees in Animal Science and Wildlife Ecology, with a minor in Asian studies. He is a Washington native, born in Moses Lake, WA on a small dairy farm and raised in Sunnyside, WA. He practiced at a busy mixed animal/wildlife-exotic practice in Spokane for a year before he moved to the east coast. He enjoys kayaking, hiking, biking, running, cooking, fishing, and anime. Pearce has owned a wide variety of exotic pets including sugar gliders, a nanday conure, hedgehogs, snakes, geckos and anole lizards, a ferret, and a sulcata tortoise. He currently owns three dogs and a ball python and lives in Portland with his fiance Brittany.
