My dog, my baby, my love, Gizmo, was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure on 9/5/2024. Upon bringing Gizmo into Ocean State Veterinary Specialist on 9/5/24, He was for the first time in his 9 years on this earth with me in CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN MY ENTIRE LIFE WITH HIM.. Gizmo was being treated when he first got there at about midnight i believe by Dr. Mederios, he was amazing and i trusted him with my baby just by his empathy and his compassion for what Gizzy needed for treatment at that time... The next morning, i received a phone call from a Dr. Terry Hallowell, who from that morning on took on, was in charge of Gizmo's care, while there at Ocean State in East Greenwich RI. I had never met her in person just spoke to her over the phone every 6 or so hours as she updated me on Gizmo's progress and results. The goal was for Gizmo to get out of the oxygen bubble he was put in within a day or so and to breath on his own while Dr. Hallowell and her team watched Gizzy closely being put on a lasix IV drip and to get the fluid out of his body which was around his heart and lungs pretty bad... Gizmo took to Dr, hallowell's medical doings very well.. Thank god and thank Dr. Hallowell! Within 12 hrs or so he was out of the oxygen bubble breathing on his own and never put back in. He continued to progress to a furosemide pill and Penobenden pill every 12 hrs and came home a day and a half later. He continues to do excellent i think without coughing at all anymore and his respitory rate has been excellent no out of breath occasions at all and he is a happy baby again... I pray i get more time with him than the drs say but i will try to cherish every single day i still have with him.. I love him more than anything in this world and cannot even fathom my life for 1 day with him. Gizmo has shown me love like no other ever has... THANK YOU DR. HALLOWELL FOR SAVING GIZMO'S LIFE !!! i am doing my very best to extend his life as long as i possibly can!! I LOVE YOU GIZZY LOVE, MOMMY. High as the sky far as the sea.... forever and ever you will be in my heart as i will yours my baby boy!!!
