Veterinarian Overview
Dr Megan Comp is originally from Hanford, California. She knew at a very young age that she wanted to care for animals. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California Santa Barbara and her Doctorate of Veterinary medicine from St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical rotations at Auburn University and now resides in Alcoa, Tennessee. Dr. Comp began working in the kennel at the local vet in Hanford at the age of 15. She earned her way up to vet technician while still in high school. While attending UCSB she worked at the Santa Barbara Zoo and discovered her passion for working with a variety of species. Dr. Comp knows that a good doctor never stops learning...she continually takes advantage of a variety of Continuing Education opportunities across the country to stay current on new medicines, treatments, and surgical protocol. When she's not caring for patients, Dr. Comp is probably working in her vegetable garden or spending fun time with her son. 'I felt a strong bond with animals when I was very young. The human/animal bond is very important to me and I want to do everything I can to strengthen that bond with every person and pet I meet. Everyday, animals show me the kind, humble, loyal and genuine nature that every human should possess.'
