Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Laratta has specialized in animal eye care for many years. He received his veterinary degree from Michigan State University, trained and served as Staff Ophthalmologist at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and was on the faculty of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville, Tennessee, for many years. Dr. Laratta established the first full-time veterinary specialty practice in Tennessee in 1992, which originally served Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and the Tri-cities area. Service to the community has always been an important part of Dr. Larattas professional and personal life, including providing continuing education to practitioners and training interns and residents. He and his family have enjoyed living in Tennessee for 30 years and have a strong interest in conservation and animal welfare.
