Congratulations to our next Pet of the Month - Shadow Boyer!Shadow came to our clinic on November 14, 2016, after they were at the emergency clinic the night before. Dr. Pugh looked at shadow and believes he was hit by a car. There was a laceration on his hip and road rash on his stomach. We hospitalized for sedation and dental x-rays. Dr. Pugh could palpate the instability of the posterior right mandible. He then aligned thecanine teeth and built a jet acrylic splint to bond the upper and lower canine teeth together.Shadow did not want to eat on his own, we were tube feeding him in the hospital. His owner, Stephanie Boyer, would drop him off every morning so we could monitor and tube feed him daily while she was at work. On, December 16, 2016, we removed the splint, cleaned and polished with fluoride and applied a bonding sealant to all the canine teeth. The bite seems to be normal now and the fracture is healed. Shadow has begun to eat his dry food again and back to his normal self! It's amazing clients that make our job seem to be so successful!
