Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Jess W. Lovell is the proud owner of the Coit North Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Lovell is a graduate of the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine and has received additional orthopedic training at Texas A&M University and Iowa State University. Prior to joining the Coit North Veterinary Hospital medical team, he provided medical guidance, leadership and surgical support for a large group of veterinary hospitals in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Dr. Lovell's clinical interests include dermatology, dentistry, internal medicine and orthopedics. Jess has served as the professional liaison for the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University and Oklahoma State University, and has been a frequent lecturer on leadership skills and veterinary practice at the University of Tennessee and various other professional organizations. He holds professional memberships in the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. An active member of the community, Dr. Lovell recently served on the McClendon-Chisholm City Council. He is also an active member of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). Prior to his academic endeavors, he served his country as an Infantry Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Dr. Lovell lives on a farm in Rockwall County that has been the family homestead since the mid 1800s. He and his wife, Lara, have three young children (Avery, Wade and James) two Labrador Retrievers (Gus and Woodrow), a llama named Spiderman and a donkey named Jenny. In his spare time, Dr. Lovell enjoys cheering for his kids sports teams, camping, cooking, fishing and being outdoors with his family.
