Veterinarian Overview
At The Animal Hospital at Steiner Ranch, we believe an open and communicative relationship between you and your veterinarian is essential if your pet is to receive the best possible care. Dr. Tamera Cole has been practicing veterinary medicine since 1990, and has earned the trust and respect of clients, colleagues, and staff alike. Her experience in many settings and situations in the practice of veterinary medicine gives her a unique perspective on the advantages and limitations of each approach. Her goal at The Animal Hospital at Steiner Ranch is to give her clientsÂ’ pets high-quality care with convenience, confidence, and compassion. Dr. Cole graduated Magna Cum Laude from Smith College with a B.A. in Chemistry. She received the DuPont Award for Research in Chemistry (twice), the Eastern Analytical Chemical Society Student Award, the Hause-Scheffer Award for Research in Chemistry, and the American Chemical Society Prize for Excellence in Analytical Chemistry. She was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and to the Sigma Xi National Research Honor Society. Dr. Cole earned her D.V.M. degree from the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she received the Joseph F. Ford Fellowship Award for Veterinary Research and served as Vice-President of the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. In addition to her general continuing education activities, Dr. Cole has been certified in both Applied Clinical Behavioral Medicine and Advanced Clinical Behavioral Medicine from the North American Veterinary Post-Graduate Institute. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Society for Animal Behavior, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Texas and Capital Area Veterinary Medical associations.
