Veterinarian Overview
Dr. Loonam was born and raised outside of Chicago Illinois and then near Gladstone New Jersey. She moved to Virginia her senior year of high school and attended Loudoun Valley High School. Shecompleted her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech and then went to vet school at The University of Tennessee. She completed a small animal rotating internship at The Regional Veterinary Referral Center inSpringfield Virginia before joining a day practice in Middleburg Virginia. Dr. Loonam then returned to The University of Tennessee for a surgical fellowship. Dr. Loonam practiced at a referral veterinary clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for 1 year before returning to Virginia. Her areas of interest are surgical oncology, emergency and critical care, and pain management. On her time off she competes in dressage and three day eventing with her off the track thoroughbred and enjoys running with her dogs.
