Veterinarian Overview
From an early age Dr.Gary Doxtater knew he wanted a career that would allow him to work outdoors. By the time he graduated from Michigan State University School of Veterinary MedIcine, he also knew he did not want to be working outdoors in Michigans winter weather so he applied for and got his first job in North Carolina. In 1981 he moved to Williamsburg. He joined the staff of the Animal Clinic of Williamsburg. He worked with both small and large animals but soon found that being outside and independent was more to his liking; so a little over a year later he started his own practice called Tidewater Equine. Dr. Doxtater now works at Tidewater Equine and at All Creatures Animal Clinic. He especially enjoys the interaction and personalized care with his patients at All Creatures. Dr. Doxtater's outside interest is performing with local bands, playing guitar and singing mostly classic soul, rock, blues and R&B.
